Task 2: Moving to New Cities or Countries

Lots of difficulties arose in the last decade. One of the difficult situations people confront these days is moving to new cities or countries. In this essay, I’m going to write about this problem and provide some possible solutions for it.

To start with, one of the major problems is that people feel homesick. For example, after a period of time, people who moved start to miss their families, friends and their original home. Another problem to consider is the culture. To illustrate, different people have different behavior, lifestyle and religions. Also, people use various ways to communicate. For instance, people around the world have many languages to communicate to each other.

Having looked at the problems, let’s turn our attention to some possible solutions. One possible solution for people who feel homesick is try to contact your people by phone, social network or IM to feel like you are still with them even if you are far away from them. Next, learn about other cultures. To explain more, ask people about the things that you don’t know how it works in this country, like their lifestyle, dress, what it is legal to do and what is not. Finally, one last solution is to deal with communication. Studying their own language is an important issue, so learning the basics of a common language is very useful and will come in handy lots of times for sure.

In summary, moving to another city isn’t hard if people prepare for it by these solutions, even if it’s challenging, they will gain experience from it.

Cameras Sold in Australia

This line graph illustrates the number of cameras sold in Australia in terms of tens thousands between 1910 and 2010.

For starters, there was a steady increase throughout the period 1910 – 1930 from approximately 1,000 to 4,000. After that, the number of cameras rose sharply in the next twenty years period by almost 60,000. Between the year 1950 and 1970, there was a huge dip in the year 1960, which made the figures drop to 40,000 and increased again to 54,000 in the year 1970. Finally, the quantities declined to 30,000 in the year 2010.

In a nutshell, the overall picture indicates that there was a rise in cameras sold in Australia from the year 1910 to 2010.

Task 1: Australian and British cinema markets

The charts show the share of the Australian and British cinema markets in terms of percentage in the year 2000.
The first chart is a bar chart which illustrates the films shown in Britain and Australia by origin. Approximately 78% of the films shown in Britain came from the USA, 20% were made in Britain itself and the last 2% from other countries. Also, movies from the USA took the first place again in Australia, too. To illustrate, it was almost 69, 6, 11 and 16 percent from the USA, Britain, Australia and others, respectively.
The second chart is a line graph that shows cinema attendance in Britain and Australia in terms of millions from the year 1980 to 2000. British cinema attendance fluctuated between 1980 and 1988 and increased after that from 80 to about 150 millions in the 12 year period. In contrast, the figures of cinema attendance in Australia experienced a small dip in the beginning. Next, the number of the attendance remained consistent in the next 6 years. Finally, it shot up to 90 millions in the year 2000.
In conclusion, the number of people who attended the cinemas increased a lot between the years 1980 and 2000.
