Task 5: Airline Survey in 2002 of economy and business class travelers

The pie chart illustrates the studies from surveys that have been done by passengers from the airline about the most popular features in business and economy classes while being divided between the two genders, males and females, in terms of percentage in the year 2002.

Let’s first look at the results of the economy class. The most significant feature the females chose was the service which was 45% if the pie chart. On the other hand, the males preferred space which took almost the half instead. However, almost the same amounts of percentage were on movies and food or drinks for both genders.

Having looked at the economy class, now let’s turn our attention to the business class. It seemed like the results between men and women were almost the same with just a slight difference in the figures, but both genders mostly preferred space.

All in all, the results show what’s important for both genders and what do they prefer over the other in two different classes.

Task 4: What Influences People’s Way of Life

In life in general, there are a lot of factors that influence people's way of life. To be more specific, these factors are categorized under either the mass media or from the life itself and family. In this essay I'll discuss some of the factors of both sides.
Let's first look at the media. The media does affect the lives of people. Firstly, TV can influence them through movies, shows or advertisements. To illustrate, it can influence people that killing, stealing or even drugs are not bad or give them ideas of how to commit crimes. On the other hand, it can also enhance their minds in a bright way to solve issues or be creative. Another media factor is the newspaper. Reading the newspaper gives the reader information about the world, like incidents that are occurring in other countries or global issues.
Since we have looked at the media, let's turn our attention to how people can get affected directly from life and family. One of the huge influential factors is the religion. To clarify, religion is one way of being told what's rightful to do or wrong, but also depends on how strong the person's belief in that religion is. Also, family, friends and the people around you influence you in a great way. Family does it by raising you and being with you in the household and friends by telling you what's nice to do or not based on their point of view.
In conclusion, the family has the biggest influence on the people in my opinion, because when they raise a baby, they teach him almost everything along with the religion. Still this baby will raise his own experience as soon as he understands life and will be himself.

Task 3: Fishermen by Region

The graph and table show the number of fishermen in millions for different regions between 1970, 1980 and 2000, and the world’s top ten exporters of fish in 2000.

In the bar chart, it’s noticeable that the number of fishermen varies. For starters, the number of fishermen increased by almost 3 million from the year 1970 to 1980 and rocketed again in the next 20 years from 14 to 26 million. On the other hand, the numbers of fishermen sharply decreased.  For example, in the years 1970, 1980 and 2000 the figures were approximately 12, 9 and 3 million respectively. Fishermen in South America remained steady during the period of 30 years.

The table illustrates the world’s top ten exporters of fish in the year 2000. Thailand in Asia was the first exporter in the year. The second highest exporter was Norway from Europe. Finally, the 10th exporter country was South Korea in Asia.

In conclusion, the number of fishermen varied in numbers between the regions and Asia had the highest fishermen among them and half of the exporting countries are from Asia.

Task 2: Moving to New Cities or Countries

Lots of difficulties arose in the last decade. One of the difficult situations people confront these days is moving to new cities or countries. In this essay, I’m going to write about this problem and provide some possible solutions for it.

To start with, one of the major problems is that people feel homesick. For example, after a period of time, people who moved start to miss their families, friends and their original home. Another problem to consider is the culture. To illustrate, different people have different behavior, lifestyle and religions. Also, people use various ways to communicate. For instance, people around the world have many languages to communicate to each other.

Having looked at the problems, let’s turn our attention to some possible solutions. One possible solution for people who feel homesick is try to contact your people by phone, social network or IM to feel like you are still with them even if you are far away from them. Next, learn about other cultures. To explain more, ask people about the things that you don’t know how it works in this country, like their lifestyle, dress, what it is legal to do and what is not. Finally, one last solution is to deal with communication. Studying their own language is an important issue, so learning the basics of a common language is very useful and will come in handy lots of times for sure.

In summary, moving to another city isn’t hard if people prepare for it by these solutions, even if it’s challenging, they will gain experience from it.

Cameras Sold in Australia

This line graph illustrates the number of cameras sold in Australia in terms of tens thousands between 1910 and 2010.

For starters, there was a steady increase throughout the period 1910 – 1930 from approximately 1,000 to 4,000. After that, the number of cameras rose sharply in the next twenty years period by almost 60,000. Between the year 1950 and 1970, there was a huge dip in the year 1960, which made the figures drop to 40,000 and increased again to 54,000 in the year 1970. Finally, the quantities declined to 30,000 in the year 2010.

In a nutshell, the overall picture indicates that there was a rise in cameras sold in Australia from the year 1910 to 2010.

Task 1: Australian and British cinema markets

The charts show the share of the Australian and British cinema markets in terms of percentage in the year 2000.
The first chart is a bar chart which illustrates the films shown in Britain and Australia by origin. Approximately 78% of the films shown in Britain came from the USA, 20% were made in Britain itself and the last 2% from other countries. Also, movies from the USA took the first place again in Australia, too. To illustrate, it was almost 69, 6, 11 and 16 percent from the USA, Britain, Australia and others, respectively.
The second chart is a line graph that shows cinema attendance in Britain and Australia in terms of millions from the year 1980 to 2000. British cinema attendance fluctuated between 1980 and 1988 and increased after that from 80 to about 150 millions in the 12 year period. In contrast, the figures of cinema attendance in Australia experienced a small dip in the beginning. Next, the number of the attendance remained consistent in the next 6 years. Finally, it shot up to 90 millions in the year 2000.
In conclusion, the number of people who attended the cinemas increased a lot between the years 1980 and 2000.
